Equity Bank Uganda Managing Director Gift Shoko paid a courtesy visit to Next Media Services CEO Kin Kariisa, marking the beginning of what both leaders described as a “meeting of minds and purpose.”
The high-level engagement aimed at identifying joint avenues to drive inclusive economic growth, media-led civic engagement, and national transformation.

During the visit, the two executives explored a broad array of collaborative opportunities, including environmental sustainability, agriculture, youth empowerment, and women’s economic inclusion—sectors central to Uganda’s socio-economic agenda and aligned with both institutions’ strategic goals.
The visit also celebrated Next Media’s support for the #BeeraSteady anti-fraud campaign, a public awareness initiative spearheaded by Equity Bank Uganda to combat financial fraud and promote digital safety among Ugandans.

The partnership is expected to strengthen Equity Bank’s ongoing mission to transform lives and livelihoods through financial literacy, affordable credit for farmers and SMEs, and targeted support for youth- and women-led enterprises.
Both leaders affirmed their commitment to continued engagement and innovation, with an emphasis on using their respective platforms—finance and media—to foster national dialogue, improve livelihoods, and support Uganda’s journey toward Vision 2040.

“Together, we’re building a better Uganda,” Equity Bank Uganda stated in a follow-up message on social media. The visit comes at a time when cross-sector partnerships are increasingly recognised as a key driver for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Uganda.
