Since years ago when Uganda embraced the talented young dancing stars, Ghetto Kids following their phenomenon performance in the ‘Sitya Loss’ music video, much has been said in the press about their relationship with Eddy Kenzo.

Some news articles have previously speculated that the singer dumped the youngsters while others claimed he had ripped them off.

But as it seems, that’s just gossip and the two powerful forces are inseparable. On Thursday, Kenzo and the Ghetto Kids put on an ecstatic show when they headlined the weekly comedy themed night, Comedy Store in Lugogo.

In an hour-long performance, Kenzo who was making his debut appearance on Comedy Store went all the length to prove that his stardom is not just about the prestigious global awards he has in his name. But that he can be an entertainer and outstanding live performer.

The BET Award winner took to stage to climax what had been a night of hearty laughter, served by comedians; Madrat and Chiko, Crazy University, The Talkers and Bush.

Performing along a Big Talent Entertainment live band, Kenzo treated the audience to a few of his long list of songs, including Mbilo Mbilo, Dagala, Nice and Lovely, Ogenda Kunzisa among others. Ordinarily, the audience would have to sit through a sing-over performance, but this for most of the revellers was more warmly serenading.

Despite having dressed lightly, the singer was heavily perspirating after just three songs, but not even that would stop him.

He would later be joined by popular singing trio, B2C to do their ‘Kapande’ collabo which is at the moment enjoying wide airplay.

But the surprise came when Kenzo called the dancing youngsters to join him on the stage before they danced to songs like Sitya Loss, Jambole, Jubilation and Zigido. One after the other, the Ghetto kids showcased their well choreographed dance moves. At this point, almost the entire audience was watching through their phone cameras.

Beside the energy and cheer that characterized Kenzo’s showcase, there was yet another twist that came off as odd. Kenzo gave a shout to singer Bebe Cool and openly expressed how he had no grudge with him.

Kenzo told the crowd to applaud Bebe’s wife, Zuena who was attending the show, before saying: “Send my greetings to Bebe Cool. Don’t mind our issues. And tell him I love him”.

The two music stars picked a serious wrangle at the start of the year, sparked by a list posted by Bebe Cool of Ugandan musicians that topped 2017, which Kenzo wasn’t part of.

Since then, the singers have had bitter exchanges, with Kenzo condemning Bebe Cool for dragging the music industry back by undermining big artistes like him.
