General (Rtd) Salim Saleh who is the Chief Coodinator of Operation Wealth Creation has received the Minister for Tourism, Prof Ephraim Kamuntu in Fort Portal, Kabarole district where the two are meeting stakeholders in the tourism sector.

Gen Saleh and Minister Kamuntu are currently meeting hoteliers and other key players in the tourism sector at Kalya Courts in Kabarole.

Wednesday’s engagement follows a recent announcement of a partnership between Kabarole district local government and OWC) in order to achieve the desired modern tourist city status.

Fort Portal has already identified pieces of land proposed for the investment and development of five three star hotels. There are also plans to upgrade the Saaka airstrip and expansion of the Toro golf course 9 hole to 18 hole golf course.
