The Chief of Defence Forces of Uganda, General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, has left the social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter.

“To all my dear followers, it has been an incredible whirlwind and a rousing journey together on these streets since 2014,” he said in a farewell message to his followers.

He added: “By the instruction and blessing of my Lord Jesus Christ, I must leave these social media streets and focus on my work to serve Uganda as Chief of Defence Forces.”

He reaffirmed his dedication to restoring peace and security in the region.

“I know you all love me, and that you will continue to follow me like the wind long after here,” he said to his followers.  

He urged his followers to stand by Uganda, Africa, and President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, whom he hailed as the greatest General of the Resistance.

“Kwaheri, and God bless you all!!!” he signed off and went on to deactivate the account.
