Lt Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba has met and held talks with Lieutenant General Osama Askar, the Chief of the General Staff of the Egyptian military.
The meeting took place Saturday morning at the Egyptian Ministry of Defence headquarters in Cairo.
“We discussed enhancing our strategic defence alliance and building on more than 25 years of defence cooperation,” Gen Muhoozi said after the meeting.
He added: “There will be greater and more solid actions in pursuit of our common security interests in the region.”
The two Generals also exchanged gifts.
