Two teams have earned top honours in the 2024/25 FUFA Regional League campaigns, marking a triumphant end to their seasons and stepping closer to potential promotion to Uganda’s Big League.
In the Buganda Regional League, Super Eagles Lugongwe emerged as champions, overcoming stiff competition throughout the season to finish top of the table. Kira United settled for the runners-up position after a spirited campaign that fell just short of the ultimate prize.
Meanwhile, over in the Kampala Region, Catda FC were crowned Kampala Region FA champions after a dramatic showdown against Ntinda United FC. The game ended in a goalless draw during normal time, sending both sides into a tense penalty shootout. Catda FC held their nerve to win 4-2 on spot kicks, sealing their place at the top.
The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) confirmed the results through official social media announcements, congratulating both clubs for their outstanding performances.

“Buganda Regional League 2024/25 season winners – Super Eagles Lugongwe. Runners-up – Kira United,” FUFA posted.
“Catda FC crowned Kampala Region FA winners for the 2024/25 season. They defeated Ntinda United FC 4-2 in spot kicks after a 0-0 draw in normal time,” FUFA added.
The two victories cap off intense regional campaigns and may pave the way for the clubs to feature in promotional playoffs, where they could secure a place in the FUFA Big League, Uganda’s second-tier football division.
These achievements highlight the continued development of grassroots and regional football in Uganda, as FUFA’s regional structures remain critical in identifying talent and building competitive clubs for the future.
