Kampala, February 15, 2024 – Jumia Uganda in collaboration with the French Business Club of Kampala (Club D’affaires de Kampala), embarked on an enlightening journey into the world of e-commerce with an exclusive visit to the Jumia Uganda Fulfillment Center.

The visit provided members of the French Business Club of Kampala with a unique opportunity to gain insights into the inner workings of one of Uganda’s leading e-commerce platforms and learn about the technologies and processes driving the future of retail.

Led by Thomas Pelletier, President of the French Business Club of Kampala, and with the esteemed presence of the French Ambassador to Uganda, His Excellency Xavier Sticker, the visit to the Jumia Uganda Fulfillment Centre showcased the intricate operations behind the seamless online shopping experience offered by Jumia.

Members of the French Business Club of Kampala were guided through various sections of the Fulfillment Center, where they witnessed firsthand the process of receiving, storing, and dispatching orders to customers across the nation.

“We are delighted to have had the opportunity to visit the Jumia Uganda Fulfillment Center and learn more about the fascinating world of e-commerce,” said Thomas Pelletier, President of the French Business Club of Kampala.

“The experience has been eye-opening, and we are grateful to Jumia Uganda for opening their doors to us and sharing valuable insights into their operations.”

During the visit, representatives from Jumia Uganda provided detailed explanations of the technology-driven logistics and inventory management systems employed to ensure efficiency and accuracy in order fulfilment.

Members of the French Business Club of Kampala also had the chance to engage in discussions with Jumia Uganda staff, asking questions and exchanging ideas about the evolving landscape of e-commerce in Uganda and beyond.

“We believe that education and collaboration are essential in driving innovation and progress,” said Vinod Goel, CEO at Jumia Uganda.

“By hosting the French Business Club of Kampala, along with His Excellency the French Ambassador to Uganda, at our Fulfillment Center, we aimed to foster a deeper understanding of e-commerce and inspire future leaders to embrace the opportunities presented by digital commerce.”

The visit to the Jumia Uganda Fulfillment Centre marks a significant step in the French Business Club of Kampala’s mission to promote cultural exchange and learning opportunities for its members.

Through firsthand experiences like this, the club aims to broaden its members’ horizons and deepen their understanding of various industries and technologies shaping the world today.
