The Frank Muthusi Foundation has been officially launched in honour of the late Fireworks Advertising Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
Frank Muthusi died in a bathroom accident back in August 2024.
A foundation to honour his memory was launched on Saturday, 23rd November 2024 at Serena Hotel in Kampala during the Silverback Awards 2024 organised by the Uganda Advertisers Association (AUU) in partnership with Loeries and Uganda Marketers Society (UMS).
“There is no better stage for us to pay tribute to the original Silverback, our former chairman, the late Frank Muthusi. A visionary, passionate, selfless, ambitious leader. His energy, drive, and optimism will forever be our source of inspiration and motivation,” said AUU represented at the awards by its President Rommel Jasi.
Based on what Frank stood for, The Frank Muthusi Foundation will continue contributing to people, communities and the country.
Silverbacks
Named after an adult male mountain gorilla (the leader of a group of gorillas), these awards serve as a platform to showcase the best in advertising and marketing, reflecting the creativity, innovation and strategic thinking that drives the industry forward.

Speaking at the grand gala, Preetesh Sewraj, CEO of the Loeries, said one has to be innovative to win a Silverback.
“So, do not only sell your product but create change when you are out there,” he noted.
He thanked the late Frank Muthusi saying he is one of the reasons they are involved in the awards.
“We were looking out for originality, commitment to the task, impact and execution,” said Peter Kazibwe, the Jury President.
He added: “We noticed a lot of AI adoption in the presentation, gender inclusion, and intention towards storytelling.”
