Four Arrested in Butaleja over Death of 17-Year-Old Boy

A mother and her three children in Butaleja district have been arrested for allegedly killing a 17-year-old boy.

The suspects who are currently held at Butaleja Police Station include Namusungu Jessica 36, Paul Hitatamba, 25 a senior one student of Faith High School, oel Makings 19, a pupil of Nabuyanja Primary School and Francis Munghaliro 15 all residents of Magoje Village, Busabi Sub-county in Butaleja District.

The four are alleged to have killed Wycliffe Masinde 17 a pupil of Bubalya Primary School after they found him having sex with two girls in a grass thatched house. The suspects are also alleged to have injured Emmanuel Manje 19, a pupil of Magoje Primary School.

According to the Magoje Village LC I Chairperson Anthony Wamulongo, the suspects assaulted the victims leaving one of them dead and the other severely injured.

The Bukedi South Police Spokesperson Moses Mugwe said that investigations have commenced but preliminary investigations indicate that the suspects used Pestle and Stick to hit the deceased.

Stanley Bayoole, the Butaleja Resident District Commissioner condemned the acts of residents taking the law into their hands.   URN
