President Yoweri Museveni has appointed former Minister for Lands Housing and Urban Development, Beti Olive Namisango Kamya the country’s Inspector General of Government (IGG).
The President in a tweet on Thursday evening also announced appointing Anne Muhairwe as the Deputy IGG.
Kamya now replaces Justice Irene Mulyagonja whose contract expired on July 5, 2020. She had earlier been nominated to the court by President Yoweri Museveni back in October 2019.
Below is President Museveni’s tweet announcing then new appointments;
By the Powers given to me under Article 223(4) of the Constitution of the Republic of Uganda, I hereby, appoint:
1. Inspector General of Government – Beti Namisango Kamya
2. Deputy Inspector of Government – Anne Muhairwe
