Former Gulu MP Seriously Injured in Disagreement Over Shs 20,000

Former Member of Parliament for Gulu Municipality, Christopher Acire is nursing serious injuries on his hand after he survived it being cut off by a mowing machine following a disagreement.

Its alleged that, Acire had disagreement with one Anywar a casual worker who demanded to be paid Shs 80,000 (eighty thousand shillings) but Acire maintained he would only pay Shs 60,000 (sixty thousand shillings).

Angered Anywar who felt exploited by Acire ended up running a mowing machine on Achire.

“The man was going to cut Acire’s neck but as Acire attempted to fight back the machine landed on his hand” said an eye witnessed who preferred anonymity.

Speaking to Jimmy Patrick Okema, the Police Spokesperson for Aswa region, Police detectives were sent to Gulu independent hospital where Acire was rushed after the incidence.

“Owiny Geoffrey, the Councillor LC3 for Bwona Gweno parish, Laliya sub country reported a case of assault on Acire, we have dispatched a team of detectives to visit the scene to investigate further,” said, Okema.

He further stated that no one has come in directly from Acire’s home to report a case. By the time of filling this story Acire is said to have been transferred to Kumi hospital Orthopaedic centre where doctors are trying to save his hand from being amputated.

Anywar is reported to have fled after the scene.
