KThe Uganda Parliamentary football team has won their Kenyan counterparts with a whooping 7-0 in the the ongoing interparliamentary games taking place in Tanzania.

The score sheet was opened by Kampala central legislator Muhammad Nsereko in the 8th minute after getting assistance from the team’s captain Allan Ssewanyana.

Nsereko didn’t consider a single goal as sufficient enough and again put the ball in the back of the net in the 15th minute leaving Kenyans wondering what their fate would be after the final whistle.

With another assistance from the Makindye legislator, Nsereko scored another goal in the 20th minute putting the score at 3-0.

Aruu county legislator, Odonga Otto, proved that he is not only a political player, but also, a football expert only be compared to Manchester United’s Paul Pogba, when he assisted Hamson Obua to score the 4th and 5th goal in the 25th and 32nd minute respectively.

With MP Nsereko already with a hat-trick in the game, Arinaitwe Brian couldn’t afford ending the game with his name not appearing on the score sheet. He scored the 6th and 7th goal with assistance from MP Peter Ogwang and Nsereko.

According to the team’s captain Allan Ssewanyana, the team is strong enough and tipped to win the following games.

“The tournament is meant to strengthen cooperation in East Africa. Our team is so far the best and we hope to win again”, said Ssewanyana, in an interview with SoftPower News.

Uganda will be playing Burundi in their next game.

Meanwhile, in netball, the ladies’ team also banged their Kenyan counterparts 44-11.

Yesterday, Uganda won 4 gold medals in athletics after Julius Acon, led in the 1500m, 400m and 800m races and Mbwatekamwa won 200m.
