The Territorial Police at Entebbe are actively investigating a fire outbreak at Kisubi Girls Primary School in Wakiso district.
According to ASP Luke Owoyesigyire, Deputy Public Relations Officer for Kampala Metropolitan Police, the incident happened Wednesday morning October 25, 2023.
He said the fire, which was reported to authorities at approximately 8 a.m., started in the Primary Four Dormitory.
“Swift response from the Fire Prevention and Rescue Services prevented the fire from spreading further, successfully extinguishing it,” he said.
He went on: “We are relieved to report that no injuries or loss of life were recorded, as all pupils had safely evacuated the dormitory before the fire ignited.”
According to Owoyesigyire, the cause of the fire outbreak is still unknown.
“Regrettably, all items within the dormitory were lost in the blaze. Our dedicated team of investigators is diligently working to uncover the circumstances leading to this incident.”
