Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) is set ti dismiss the deputy Chairperson of COSASE, MP Anita Among.
Addressing a press conference on Monday at Najjanankumbi, the party’s Vice President Eastern Region, Proscovia Saalam Musumba accused Among of uttering public statements that express double standards on top of being an independent MP.
Musumba explained that the decision to appoint Among for the said position was made following her service of the party as Deputy Treasurer General and when she was still loyal to the party.
Musumba said that the party president will meet with her and ask whether she is still pursuing the FDC agenda or not.
“This is a technical question that she must answer; whether she is still pursuing our agenda it is not personal at all,” Musumba said.
“As far as we see she has double loyalty and we can’t afford it.”
Musumba explained that leadership of committees is an issue the party is dealing with in furtherance of integrity of leadership the party provides.
“We are discussing issues about the integrity of leadership especially at committee level, and I must tell you we are discussing the committee on COSASE,” Musumba added.
Musumba who said that Among’s double standards presents contradictions to FDC which the new party president, Patrick Amuriat is having to deal with promised that the party leadership would hold a meeting with FDC MPs to deal with the matter.
“There is a public contradiction that we must solve, the Deputy Chairperson of COSASE as you know was a deputy treasurer general in the party, but in the last general election chose to stand as an independent. When she was given the responsibility, it was understood that she was sympathetic to the cause, now she has made public utterances about her change of mind,” Musumba said.
