FDC has appointed Kawempe South MP, Mubaraka Munyagwa as the Vice Chairperson of the Parliament Committee on Commissions, Statutory Authorities and State Enterprise (COSASE) replacing Bukedea Woman MP, Anita Among.
The appointment has been confirmed by the FDC Presidential Press Secretary, Sarah Eperu who noted that this has been a decision of the party National Executive Committee (NEC).
Among has been accused of being in bed with President Museveni who has been seen attending several functions and tour of projects with him.
The leadership noted earlier that despite Among being an independent MP in the 10th Parliament, she was appointed to the committee leadership because by then she was sympathetic to the cause which isn’t the case now.
Eperu said that, “NEC Members agreed to have Among replaced though the only contradiction was to whether she is replaced before the end of her term or earlier,” Eperu said.
She added, “The party president held a meeting with the Leader of Opposition (LOP), Winnie Kiiza and the opposition Chief whip, Ibrahim Semujju Nganda on Tuesday and agreed to have Among replaced immediately and the Secretary General was told to officially write to her.”
Eperu noted that the changes take immediate effect as soon as Among receives the letter from the Secretary General, Nandala Mafabi.
