The concert which started at about 7 am, saw local artists fire up the crowds, before kickboxer Moses Golola, got on stage at around 10:30 pm.

Golola, delivered a mock fight with Jinja boxers, leaving the crowds in awe. The kickboxer, known for his kick dances and waist dangling, appreciated the Ministry of Tourism, Wildlife and Antiquities, for promoting the different tourism sites across the country.

Jinja’s finest and new kid on the block, Acidic Vocals, by 11:00 pm, stepped on stage with his trending banger, “Silidamu okwagala”, with the crowds singing along line by line.

John Blaq, also a son of the soil, sang his best songs, from “Do dat” to his latest singles.

The Explore Busoga Campaign is an integral part of the broader Explore Uganda domestic tourism series and the fifth campaign of the series, following successful campaigns; Explore Elgon, Explore West, Explore North, and Explore Bunyoro.

The Minister for Tourism, Wildlife and Antiquities, Martin Mugarra, who headlined the campaign, thanked Ugandans for embracing the different domestic travel campaigns, that helped keep the tourism sector afloat.

Minister Martin Mugarra

Mugarra emphasized the campaign’s significance in showcasing both the hidden treasures and well-known attractions of Busoga.

He highlighted Busoga’s allure, encompassing attractions such as the Source of the Nile, numerous waterfalls, museums, agro-tourism facilities, and cultural sites.

Despite these sites being frequented by thousands of tourists over the years, Mugarra emphasized the ever-renewing experience each trip brings.

Mugarra emphasized the broader goals of domestic tourism campaigns, like raising awareness about existing attractions, shedding light on hidden gems, rejuvenating regional tourism clusters, and cultivating new itineraries.

Schools will no longer charge any form of fee for the acquisition of permanent or immovable property that remains assets of the school, its foundation body, or proprietors. This includes contributions for the purchase of school buses or development fees for buildings.
