Jinja — Equity Bank Uganda turned up the heat and the horsepower at the Bugerere Stabex EMC Rally Championship, powering through the dust and adrenaline from July 10 to 12 at the Across the Nile Resort Circuit in Jinja.
As a proud sponsor of the high-octane event, Equity Bank brought the spirit of speed, community, and competitive edge to the motorsport scene, unleashing its Mitsubishi Evo 9 on Day One and rallying behind the Drugs Express Rally Team throughout the weekend.
“From the thrill of the track to the heart of the community, Equity Bank is geared up for the Bugerere Stabex EMC Rally Championship. We’re excited to support local motorsport talent and celebrate the passion that fuels events like this,” the Bank posted on X (formerly Twitter).
Fans were treated to a weekend of roaring engines and electrifying performances, with veteran driver Nasser Mutebi of Nash Rally Team overcoming early technical setbacks to make a dramatic comeback on the track, proving once again why he remains a legend in Ugandan rallying circles.
Meanwhile, Oscar, another driver turning heads at the rally, came out of the gates full throttle, setting the tone for a competitive and unforgettable event.
Equity Bank’s participation underscores its growing support for local sports and community engagement initiatives. While known for empowering businesses and individuals with financial solutions, the Bank is also fast becoming a champion of youth talent and grassroots development in unexpected arenas, like motorsport.
The Bugerere Stabex EMC Rally Championship not only drew motorsport enthusiasts from across the region but also spotlighted Jinja’s growing role as a hub for adventure sports and tourism.
