The Luzira Prisons Grounds buzzed with excitement on Sunday, July 27, 2025, as Equity Bank Uganda showcased team spirit and athletic prowess at the Corporate Sports Network (CSN) event.
The second season of the CSN, themed “Networking through Sports,” brought together over 40 companies for a thrilling day of competition featuring football, basketball, darts, and more.
A Day of Energy and Connection
Equity Bank Uganda, one of the new entrants to the 2025 CSN season, embodied their motto, “We don’t just support sport. We live it,” as their employees competed fiercely in multiple disciplines.
The event, held at the home of Maroons Football Club, saw corporate teams battle it out in football, basketball, darts, netball, volleyball, and fun games like the sack race, with darts being a newly introduced sport this season.

Football
In football, Equity Bank Uganda’s team delivered a spirited performance. While specific match results for Equity Bank were not fully detailed, the football category saw intense competition.
Defending champions Centenary Bank faced strong opposition from teams like Absa Bank, Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS), and Electricity Regulatory Authority (ERA).
Equity Bank’s squad, known for their energy and teamwork, held their own, with standout moments of coordination and flair on the 7-a-side pitch, where teams were encouraged to include at least two female players to promote inclusivity.
Basketball
On the basketball court, Equity Bank Uganda brought their A-game, competing against corporate giants like MTN Uganda, who previously dominated the basketball category in 2022 with 40 points.

While MTN Uganda set a high bar in past seasons, Equity Bank’s players showed agility and precision, making their presence felt in this fast-paced sport. Exact scores remain unavailable, but Equity’s commitment to wellness and connection shone through in their dynamic plays.
Darts: A New Frontier
The introduction of darts, a sport added due to popular demand from CEOs and top managers, added a fresh twist to the day’s events.
Equity Bank Uganda’s participants embraced the challenge, showcasing focus and accuracy in this precision-based game.
While specific rankings for darts were not disclosed, the event marked a successful debut for the sport, with Equity Bank among the teams testing their skills in this novel corporate competition.
