Euro Gold has received a mining license in Mubende from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development. This followed a partnership with Mubende United Artisanal Miners. Euro Gold refinery is the first that’s fully owned by a Ugandan Bernard Feni.
Under the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed on November 3, 2025, at Euro Gold’s headquarters in Kampala, Euro Gold refinery will purchase and refine the miners’ gold to 99.9% purity, 24-carat gold, for international trading.
This partnership is part of Euro Gold’s broader strategy to build a more inclusive and sustainable gold industry.
Gold is one of Uganda’s top export commodities, contributing significantly to foreign exchange earnings and the national economy through direct exports, job creation, and investments.
The partnership will strengthen collaboration, empower artisanal miners, and promote responsible gold mining and refining practices across Uganda.
At the event held in Bukya town council, Mubende district, the Minister for Energy, Ruth Nankabirwa, was represented by Agnes Alaba, Commissioner for Mines, who handed over the license to MUMA and Euro Gold, represented by Bernard Feni.
Feni reaffirmed Euro Gold’s commitment to empowering local miners, promoting ethical sourcing, and driving long-term prosperity within mining communities.
