Ugandan musician Edirisa Musuuza aka Eddy Kenzo has been nominated for the 65th Annual Grammy Awards.
The awards were announced on Tuesday, November 15, 2022, ahead of the ceremony that will take place on 5th February 2023 at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
Kenzo was nominated under the ‘Best Global Music Performance’ category.
The Semyekozo hitmaker got a nod for the song ‘Gimme Love’ featuring American singer Matt B.
The tune was produced by Ugandan beatmaker A-Steyn.
“Isn’t God so good banange, Uganda is in the Grammys,” Kenzo posted on his Twitter platform.

He has been nominated alongside nine other stars including; Burna Boy from Nigeria, Arooj Aftab (Pakistani based in the US), Anoushka Shankar (British American), Matt B (American), Rocky Dawuni (Ghanaian), Black Hero (Jamaican), Wouter Kellerman (South African), Zakes Bantwini (South African) and Nomcebo Zikode (South African).
Kenzo is the first Ugandan musician to win a BET Award in East Africa, the only BET Award to date.
This was in recognition of his 2014 single “Sitya Loss”. He has also won multiple All Africa Music Awards.
Several artists, albums, and songs are up for voting and Beyonce received the most nominations this time with nine nods.
