Five time CAF Confederations Cup giants, CS Sfaxien of Tunisia are hopeful about winning Uganda’s representatives in the tournament, in their upcoming encounter on Saturday.

Vipers SC will host the Tunisian outfit who are already in the country for the first leg of the 2nd 1/16 round of the Confederations Cup.

Minutes after arriving at the Entebbe International airport on Thursday, Sfaxien’s Coach, Rudolf Jozef Krol, told reporters that this is their first year in Uganda but, appreciated the weather which described as “good”.

He said this is the starting point of their anticipated victory against the hosts.

The 69-year-old with a rich experience in continental club football said that despite the long journey from North Africa to Uganda, his team is upbeat about victory.

“The journey from Tunis to Uganda ofcourse will have an impact on the match. We hope that we can have full recuperation by Saturday and can make a good result,” said Jozef.

Asked about his knowledge on Vipers team, the Dutchman admitted knowing little bout Michael Ouma’s boys, apart from being aware of the artificial turf (St Mary’s Stadium) from where they are going to play.

He said the turf will give them some hard time since they are used to playing on natural grass back home.

Vipers SC who are under new tutorship of Kenyan tactician, Michael Ouma and Edward Golola, were knocked out of the CAF Champions league by Algeria’s CS Constantine on a 3-0 defeat on aggregate, before automatically slipping into the Confederations Cup.

They enter tomorrow’s game after defeating West Nile outfit, Onduparaka FC 3-0 on Tuesday in the StarTimes Uganda Premier league.
