The 2025 edition of the PRAU Run attracted leading corporate organisations in Kampala, promoting a healthy lifestyle through physical activity and encouraging participants to embrace fitness not just for leisure but for overall well-being.

Organised by the Public Relations Association of Uganda (PRAU), the 5-kilometre run kicked off from Sideline Bar and Restaurant (Lugogo Indoor Stadium) and wound through the scenic upper Kololo area.

Joel Kagina emerged victorious in the 5km race, followed by Baguma Robert in second place, Edrisa Ssentonga in third, Asaba James in fourth, and Lule Eriah in fifth. Kiwanuka Emmanuel came in sixth, Annet Nkazozi seventh, Zziwa Joel eighth, Barbra Ssina ninth, and Namboozo Josephine rounded off the top ten. All winners received trophies courtesy of African Dreamz and hampers from Movit Products.

The event was designed not only to promote physical health among PR professionals and corporate participants, but also to highlight the importance of wellness alongside career development.

PRAU President Irene Nakasiita emphasised the Association’s commitment to promoting healthy living and creating spaces for meaningful connections among its members.

“The PRAU Run is more than just a leisure event—it’s about beating non-communicable diseases and fostering a healthy, happy, and productive workforce,” Nakasiita noted. “It also serves as a powerful member engagement and networking platform, which is a key part of our strategy.”

Nakasiita also highlighted the broader calendar of activities lined up for PRAU members in 2025, positioning them as opportunities for professional growth and community building. She encouraged non-members to join the Association and take part in upcoming events, including the highly anticipated National PR Symposium scheduled for July 25, 2025.

“Beyond the fun and fitness of the PRAU Run, we have initiatives that tackle critical issues in the communications industry,” she added. “The PR Symposium, for instance, is a key space for dialogue and advancement of our profession.”

The day’s activities also included aerobics sessions, mini marathons, wellness talks, and networking opportunities, making it a holistic event that blended health, education, and social connection.

The event’s success was made possible through partnerships with several corporate sponsors, including Centenary Bank, Nile Breweries Limited, Sideline Bar and Restaurant, Affinity Media, C-Care, African Dreamz, Rwenzori Mineral Water, Uganda Red Cross Society, Movit Products, NRG Radio, and Coca-Cola Beverages Uganda.

PRAU’s Governing Council, led by President Nakasiita, extended heartfelt appreciation to all partners for their support in making the run a resounding success.
