H.E Amb. Col (Rtd) Fred Mwesigye, High Commissioner of the Republic of Uganda to the United Republic of Tanzania, officially presented his Letters of Credence to H.E. Samia Suluhu Hassan, President of the United Republic of Tanzania, at State House Chamwino, Dodoma on August 25, 2022.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Uganda, the discussion that followed after the presentation of  Credentials focused on Regional Integration, matters of bilateral interest to both countries.

“Especially the EACOP Project, Gas pipeline, SGR, Energy and Road transport networks connecting Uganda and Tanzania, elimination of Non-tariff Barriers among others,” the Ministry said in a statement.

Fred Mwesigye is a Ugandan politician,Former legislator Nyabushozi county, and former member of the army.

He is currently serving as the High Commissioner of Uganda to the United republic of Tanzania. He is among the 27 liberators in the 1981 Uganda Bush war.
