Coca-Cola Beverages Uganda has announced the return of its iconic ‘Share a Coke’ campaign with an exciting new twist designed to resonate with Gen Z’s craving for real, meaningful connections.

This innovative cross-border activation brought together students from Makerere University Business School (MUBS) in Uganda and Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) in Kenya for a vibrant, virtual “Cross-Border Toast,” celebrating friendship, unity, and unforgettable Coca-Cola moments.

This event is a key part of Coca-Cola’s East and Central Africa campaign relaunch, aiming to foster genuine connections in a time when digital interactions often feel transient. The campaign provides tangible, real-life moments that create lasting memories.

“The ‘Share a Coke’ campaign has always been about fostering authentic human connections, and this East African activation takes that mission further,” said Arthur Akankwasah, Coca-Cola Franchise Manager, Uganda.

“By connecting students across borders, we’re not just sharing a drink – we’re sharing culture, friendship, and the spirit that unites East Africa. In an era where digital interactions can seem fleeting, this campaign offers a way for young people to connect in a meaningful, real-world way.”

The relaunch features Coca-Cola bottles and cans personalised with popular names from Uganda and Kenya, celebrating the diversity and warmth of the region.

Alongside the in-person celebrations, students and fans across Uganda can scan QR codes on the packaging to access the “Share a Coke Memory Maker,” a dynamic digital hub where they can generate personalized video content, share messages with friends, and create custom name labels.

“At Coca-Cola, we’re constantly looking for new ways to connect with young people and be part of their everyday moments,” added Vivienne Olenyo, Frontline Marketing Manager – Coca-Cola East & Central Africa.

“The return of ‘Share a Coke’ celebrates friendship, self-expression, and community—values that are at the heart of Gen Z. Whether online or offline, we’re inviting them to create and share personal, magical memories.”

Over the next three months, Coca-Cola will bring the campaign to life across Uganda with engaging experiences at universities, malls, eateries, and social hubs. Consumers are encouraged to share their #ShareaCokeUG moments on TikTok, Instagram, and X (formerly Twitter), turning everyday connections into extraordinary memories.

The relaunch is set to reach over 120 countries globally as Coca-Cola continues to bridge the gap between the digital and physical worlds, making every Coke moment more personal, fun, and magical.
