The Chieftaincy of Military Intelligence (CMI) in partnership with Bridgeway Foundation has so far rehabilitated 75 former Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) combatants.
“CMI continues to receive and rehabilitate ADF Ex-Combatants (Captives and Defectors) from Eastern DRC following heightened Operation Shuuja,” said Defence Spokesperson, Brig Gen Felix Kulayigye.
On 30 November 2021, Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo launched a joint military offensive in Eastern Congo dubbed ‘Operation Shujaa’.
“This is done in a phased way and now, 75 have been rehabilitated from September to December 2023.”
The Ugandans include; five male adults, four female adults, six male juveniles and nine female juveniles.
The Congolese include; 16 female adults, nine male juveniles and 23 female juveniles.
There is only one Tanzanian; a male adult.
Burundians are two female adults.
