Riyadh, Saudi Arabia — Uganda’s long-distance runners delivered a powerful performance at the Islamic Solidarity Games in Riyadh, securing both silver and bronze in the men’s 10,000m final.
Samuel Cherop Simba stormed to a silver-medal finish with an impressive time of 29:06.58, closely followed by Abel Chebet, who claimed bronze in 29:07.63 after a fiercely contested final lap.

In a statement shared on social media, Uganda Athletics hailed the duo’s resilience and fighting spirit. “Outstanding grit and heart on the track,” the federation posted. “Congratulations to both athletes for flying the flag high.”
The strong showing further cements Uganda’s growing dominance in long-distance running on the international stage, coming at a time when the country continues to invest in nurturing world-class athletic talent.
