National Resistance Movement (NRM) leaders in the Buganda region have pledged to mobilize support for President Yoweri Museveni and party flag bearers in the upcoming 2026 general elections.
The commitment was made on Sunday at Nabbunga playgrounds in Kalisizo town council, Kyotera district, during a campaign dubbed “Buganda for Museveni.” The event was hosted by Kyeyune Haruna Kasolo, the State Minister of Microfinance.
Rose Namayanja, NRM Deputy Secretary General, emphasized the importance of supporting the NRM government to ensure the region is not left behind in terms of development.

“It is through NRM MPs that services are lobbied from the government. Vote for President Museveni and NRM members of parliament to follow up on government promises.”
Namayanja also urged voters to choose legislators who are performers. “We need MPs who can lobby the government to ensure services reach the people on the ground.”
Haruna Kyeyune Kasolo, the State minister of Microfinance, outlined a number of government interventions like the construction of over 15 health Centres in the districts, SEED schools, poverty alleviation programs like emyooga and parish development model among others.

The event was attended by several ministers, including Hon. Ruth Nankabirwa (Energy), Counsel Kiryowa Kiwanuka (Attorney General), and Hon. John Chrysostom Muyingo (Education).
