The poll for the hosting rights of AFCON 2019 was between Egypt and South Africa but it is the North African country that emerged victorious and secured the rights.

The tournament is slated for June 15 to July 13.

CAF had to come up with a new host for AFCON 2019 after stripping Cameroon of its rights due to their failure in infrastructural upgrades needed to handle a 24-team tourney.

CAF had also raiswd concerns about the political instability in the country.

Uganda’s national football team, the Cranes already qualified to play at the tournament for the second consecutive time after decades without their appearance.

This is a developing story
