Singer Joseph Mayanja alias Jose Chameleone has come out and applauded all his fans for walking alongside him in his musical journey.
The award winning artiste whose career spans over two decades held his Saba Saba concert on Friday at the Cricket Oval in Lugogo.
Backed by the Solid Band, the self proclaimed ‘Heavy Weight’ performed for about three hours treating his fans to some of the hits that have marked his music journey.
On Saturday, he took to social media to appreciate his fans for gracing the event.
“Thanks all my people for supporting me for two decades. But majorly, thank you for sparing your precious time to party with me last night,” Chamelone posted.
“I am completely very proud that we made history together again”.
His fellow musician, Bobi Wine with whom Chameleone pioneered the Afro Pop sound in Uganda, attended the concert in a show of solidarity.
Bobi Wine took to the stage and couldn’t help but attest to Chameleone’s weight in Uganda’s music industry.
“It’s hard to mention music talent from Uganda and skip the name of Dr. Jose Chameleone,” Bobi Wine said.
“Chameleone is the cream of Ugandan talent, a living legend that needs to be celebrated now and for many years to come,” he said.
In August when Bobi Wine was incarcerated in military detention, Chameleone was among the first artistes that publicly appealed for the singer’s (Bobi Wine) release.
With his Kampala do accomplished, the ‘Mateeka’ singer will now embark on countryside editions in Jinja, Mbarara, Lyantonde and Masaka.
