A third-year student at Bishop Stuart University in Mbarara city has been found dead in his room.
Christopher Nahabwe, 28, was doing a Bachelor’s degree in Information and Communications Technology (ICT).
He hails from Kalyamenvu village in Mpumudde Sub County in Lyantonde district.
Nahabwe’s death was reported to Mbarara Central Police Station by ASP Nabaterega Milly, the Officer-in-Charge of Bishop Stuart University police post.
According to the report, the deceased’s body was discovered on Tuesday, August 2 around 5pm in his room at the University.
“It’s alleged that on Monday night, Nahabwe was seen very drunk. He entered his room and slept and on Tuesday evening, he was found dead on his bed. The cause of death is not yet established,” reads a statement issued by SP E. Bwambale, Mbarara DPC.
Bwambale said a report of sudden death has been registered to vide the above reference.
A homicide team led by D/AIP Teriyetu and SOCO visited the scene and documented it.
The body was taken to Mbarara hospital mortuary Mbarara for post-mortem as inquiries continue.
