Betika, one of Africa’s leading gaming and lifestyle brands, has officially thrown its weight  behind Buwambo United FC in a strategic move that reinforces its commitment to grassroots football development in Uganda.

More than a sponsorship, this partnership is about backing ambition.

Betika has provided financial support, match balls, training bibs, and a full set of branded jerseys, tools that will immediately strengthen the team’s preparations as they enter the decisive second half of the season. Buwambo United are currently sitting second on the table with 32 points from 15 matches. The dream of big league football is within reach. The gap at the top is narrow. The hunger in the squad is real. And the belief in Buwambo has never been stronger.

The official handover ceremony, attended by players, club leadership, and members of the media, was filled with optimism and renewed energy, a moment that reflected not just support but partnership.

“At Betika, we believe football changes lives, especially when it starts at the community level,” said Desire Akanduhura, Marketing Lead, Betika. “What we see in Buwambo United is resilience, structure, and the courage to dream bigger. We are proud to stand with them on this journey. This is about empowering local talent and giving communities something to rally behind.”

For Buwambo United, the impact goes far beyond equipment.

“This partnership gives our players confidence,” said Mr. Ssenkoma Douglous, Club CEO, Buwambo United FC. “When a brand like Betika believes in you, it strengthens the entire club, from the dressing room to the fans in the stands. We are a community club with big ambitions, and this support fuels our push for promotion.”

Buwambo United’s rise is rooted in community pride, from their active engagement with fans to the way they nurture young talent. Their journey reflects the spirit of Ugandan football: driven, passionate, and deeply connected to the people.

For Betika, supporting Buwambo United is part of a wider commitment to growing the sport at every level, not just celebrating champions, but helping build them. As the second half of the season unfolds, one thing is clear: this is more than a campaign for promotion. It is a community’s dream in motion and Betika is proud to help power it.
