The second edition of Bell ObaFest, Uganda Breweries’ flagship beer festival, brought together beer enthusiasts for a three-day extravaganza of music, food, art, and culture.
The event showcased the perfect blend of Uganda’s iconic beer brands, including Guinness, Bell Lager, Bell Citrus, and Pilsner Lager.
The festival kicked off with a colorful display of fireworks and energetic dance performances, marking the official launch of Bell Citrus, a zesty flavored beer.
Each brand curated unique experiences, catering to diverse interests. The Guinness Premier League match-day showcase delighted football fans, while Pilsner King introduced its new variant.
The festival grounds were filled with cultural hues, reminding attendees of their unique heritage. The Bell Citrus electric avenue featured artistic expressions like body art, and the Bell Lager arena offered nyama choma and jug-sharing experiences.
A diverse Ugandan music lineup kept revelers on their feet throughout the three days. Legendary performers like Bebe Cool, Blu 3, Maddox Ssematimba, Myko Ouma, delivered electrifying performances. Traditional twists by Kika Troupe and Alideki Brian added flavor to the festival, accompanied by Kampala’s top DJs.
Lillian Kansiime, Bell Lager Brand Manager, emphasized the brand’s aim to redefine enjoyment through Bell ObaFest. “We combine cultural identifiers that unite Ugandans, from savory food to fashion and art, bringing crews together to raise a toast to beer.”
The festival prioritized responsible drinking, offering attractive beer deals, exclusive brand goodies, and free drinking water. A sign language interpreter catered to persons with disabilities, and extensive waste management arrangements reinforced the brand’s sustainability agenda.
Bell ObaFest 2024 was a resounding success, uniting beer lovers and celebrating Uganda’s rich culture. The festival’s commitment to responsibility, sustainability, and inclusivity set a new standard for events in Uganda.
