Two weeks to his ‘Golden Heart’ concert, musician Moses Ssali alias Bebe Cool has announced that the much awaited musical showdown will be held at the Kololo Independence Grounds, not Kampala Serena Hotel as earlier publicized.
Bebe Cool who addressed a press conference on Tuesday revealed the concert has received an overwhelming interest among the public who are rushing to buy tables making him shift the venue.
As a result, he said he thought the Victoria Hall at Serena Hotel may not be spacious enough to accommodate the big numbers, thus the decision to change the venue.
“I realize that Serena won’t be big enough for everyone and based on that, I have decided to change the venue for this year’s Golden Heart Concert from Serena Hotel to Kololo Airstrip,” the singer told the press.
Part of why he thinks Kololo is a better option, he said, is – it will offer his fans a fresh ambiance, easy access, parking and good security while his fans have fun.
No Ugandan musician has held a musical concert at Kololo Independence Grounds, so, Bebe Cool’s concert is a first.
He lauded all his fans that have already expressed interest in supporting the August concert but also urged those who have not yet got their tickets to get them.
Tickets which cost Shs 100,000 (VIP) and Shs 5 million (VVIP table) are available at Serena Hotel but they can also be delivered to whoever is interested by his team.
The Gagamel boss was hesistant to disclose how many tables have been bought so far.
Responding to the charity aspect of the concert, Bebe Cool had this to say – “I saw the compassion my 2-year-old son had shown towards a fellow young sick child, I realized God was giving me a sign”.
“I have dedicated all the concerts that l am going to perform to disadvantaged children with heart problems. Even my December concert will be dubbed Kiwatule Golden Heart,” he added.
Each year, Bebe Cool will give support to three children and their parents with an air ticket and pay for their hospital bills. And it isn’t the first time Bebe Cool is helping the needy to acquire medical treatment.
