For the second year in a row, singer Bebe Cool has released his list of the best performing artistes and songs in the year 2018, crediting Fik Fameica and Sheebah for their consistency.

Bebe Cool’s ‘list’ sparked controversy last year with some musicians who had not been featured thereon dismissing it. Nevertheless, the Gagamel boss defended it and said it was his opinion.

Now, he has kept his promise and released a Top 20 list capturing his personal assessment of the entertainment industry in the just concluded year.

The list features musicians Fik Fameica, Fefe Busi, Gravity, Jose Chameleone, Sheebah, Fille, Spice Diana, Daddy Andree, Ykee Benda and Winnie Nwagi.

In his opinion, Bebe Cool believes Fik Fameica and Sheebah produced outstanding work in the year under review.

“I must commend Fik famaica and Sheebah Karungi on the high level of work this year considering the fact that Fik has gone year 2 consistent while Sheeba has gone 4 years consistent,” the ‘Wasibuka Wa’ singer said.

The consistency exhibited by the two artistes, he says, is worth commending given the stiff competition brought in the music industry by new artistes who chunned out big singles.

Also featured on the list is Kalifa Aganaga, Vinka, John Blaq, Voltage Music, Eddy Kenzo, Geo Steady and King Saha.

On the Hit Singles list are songs Bankuza (Chosen Becky), Gukuba (Irene Ntale), You and Me (Lydia Jazmine), Sili Muyembe (Rema), Romance (Allan Toniks), Twazikoze (Hit Nature), Levixone’s Turn the Replay and Bobi Wine’s Kyarenga.

Interestingly, Bebe Cool did include himself on the same list as well as his biggest nemeses this year; Bobi Wine and A Pass. He picked A Pass’ Didadada and Guli Wano on the Top 20 artistes’ list while Bobi Wine’s Kyarenga featured on the list for Hit Singles.

However, Bebe Cool was quick to add a disclaimer on Bobi Wine’s song ‘Kyarenga’ which to him is not a good song. The comment will come off as unsurprising to many, given the rivarly that peaked between the two (Bebe Cool and Bobi Wine) in 2018.

“Kyarenga is not a good song but using his [Bobi Wine] political ground to push it to a big single is acceptable by me otherwise musically, No,” Bebe Cool wrote.

Bebe Cool says band music is slowly losing the prominence it used to command in the industry which to him is “very unfortunate”.

“For those with one song this year, it’s because the one song has been really big otherwise the list only has artists with two or more songs”.

“If you are not on this list, it’s not personal, it’s just my opinion and you have one too. Let’s work more for our Uganda music industry,” Bebe Cool said.

His special recognition went to Irene Namatovu, Sandra Nankoma, Bebe cool (for his international award recognition), Miss uganda, Golola Moses, Uganda Cranes. On the comedy aspect, he listed MC Mariachi and funny duo Madrat and Chiko.
