Absa Bank Uganda has unveiled ‘It’s your turn. Jooga 2025 with Absa’, a comprehensive campaign designed to empower customers to achieve their 2025 goals. The campaign offers a range of financial services tailored to meet the unique needs of both individuals and businesses.
Speaking at the campaign launch at Absa Bank Uganda’s head office in Kampala, Ronald Kamulegeya, Acting Retail and Business Banking Director, highlighted the benefits of the campaign.
“Through ‘Jooga 2025 with Absa’, our customers can access financing solutions tailored to their needs, including car loans of up to UGX 600 million, unsecured business loans of up to UGX 200 million for SMEs, and salary loans of up to UGX 300 million with repayment holidays.”
Kamulegeya emphasized Absa’s commitment to providing innovative solutions that meet the unique needs of each customer.
“We believe that everyone deserves an opportunity to succeed and achieve their goals. That’s why we’re offering a range of financial services under this campaign, including school bridge loans of up to UGX 500 million with no arrangement fees.”
New Absa Bank customers who take up loans under this campaign will receive a payback of up to UGX 1 million. Additionally, clients who switch their personal loans, vehicle asset finance, or mortgages to Absa will receive cash back.
According to the UN Trade and Development (UNTAD), Uganda has 1.1 million SMEs, which account for 80% of the country’s GDP and 90% of the private sector. Kamulegeya noted that Absa is aware of the need for affordable financing for both individuals and businesses.
“That’s why, under this campaign, we’re offering credit at competitive interest rates, reduced processing fees, and flexible repayment terms of up to 84 months for personal loans.”
Michael Segwaya, Absa Bank Uganda’s Executive Director & CFO, emphasized the bank’s customer-centric approach. “At Absa, we’re committed to being more responsive to our customers’ needs. We put our customers at the center of everything we do. This campaign is designed to provide our customers with the financing they need to achieve their goals, whether it’s investing in their business, their children’s education, or vehicle financing.”
The campaign also includes Absa’s Medical Insurance Cover, which aims to provide affordable insurance to Ugandans. According to the World Bank’s Uganda Human Capital Index for 2020, 15% of Uganda’s population incurs catastrophic health expenditure. “Our motivation for providing this insurance cover is to help more people acquire access to affordable insurance, improving the quality of life for Ugandans,” Kamulegeya said.
Overall, Absa’s ‘Jooga 2025’ campaign demonstrates the bank’s commitment to empowering its customers to achieve their goals. By providing a range of financial services and affordable insurance options, Absa is helping to drive economic growth and improve the lives of Ugandans.
