The Kabaka of Buganda Kingdom, Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II, has spoken out about his health condition, urging his subjects to remain calm.
The Buganda monarch is undergoing treatment at a health facility in Namibia, in Southern Africa.
In a video message released by the kingdom on Monday, the Kabaka said his health is improving and he is expected to return home soon.
“My health is improving. I hope to be back home soon. I thank God for his protection and all of you for your prayers,” Ssaabasajja Kabaka said in a video released by the Buganda Kingdom on July 1, 2024.
He thanked the subjects for all their prayers and for not giving up hope amidst the great challenges.
He thanked the Katikkiro (Prime Minister), Ministers and all the chiefs for continuing to run the royal affairs during his absence.
“I thank my people who have followed the values, culture, traditions, and traditions during this very difficult time.”
“As I always say, our strength lies in solidarity. I encourage our people to remain united. May the Lord protect you,” he added.
