Dr. Nelson Musoba has been reappointed as the Director General of the Uganda AIDS Commission (UAC).
Musoba’s reappointment was confirmed by Milly Babalanda, the Minister in Charge of the Presidency.
“Congratulations to Dr. Nelson Musooba upon being reappointed to the helm of Uganda AIDS Commission (UAC) as Director General by H.E the President. You have done well in coordinating the fight against HIV/AIDS on the way to ending the scourge by 2030. I call for more effort from all players and responsible living to reduce the spread of the disease,” Babalanda said.
In his turn, Musooba stated: “I thank HE the President for the opportunity to serve and pray that I will deliver by the grace of God. I thank you, Hon Minister, the wider government, and all stakeholders for the efforts in the fight against HIV/AIDS.”
The Uganda Aids Commission was established by a statute of Parliament, in 1992. The body is responsible for ensuring a focused and harmonized HIV/AIDS response in the country.

Musoba joined UAC in 2014 as Director of Planning and Strategic Information to coordinate the Directorate of Planning and Strategic Information.
In March 2017, he was appointed as Acting Director General, and in February 2018, he was confirmed as the DG.
Musoba holds a Master’s degree in Public Health from Makerere University.
