Robert Kyagulanyi, President of the National Unity Platform (NUP), has appointed Nakawa West Member of Parliament, Joel Ssenyonyi as the new Leader of Opposition.
Ssenyonyi replaces, Nyendo Mukungwe, MP Mathias Mpuuga who has been named a parliamentary commissioner.
Prior to his appointment, Ssenyonyi was the Chairperson of the Parliamentary Committee on Commissions, Statutory Authorities and State Enterprises (COSASE). He will assume the position for the next two and a half years.
