The Cricket Cranes have defended their Africa Cricket Association (ACA) Africa Cup T20 title after defeating Kenya in the final.
Uganda beat Kenya by 91 runs to retain the trophy on Tuesday, December 19, 2023. The Cranes won the title in 2022 as well.
The Ugandan senior men’s national cricket team secured several victories against opponents like Malawi and Mozambique in the Africa Cup T20.
They went ahead and destroyed Botswana by 10 wickets in the semi-final.
The Cranes demonstrated class on Tuesday when they crushed Kenya by a staggering 91 runs at Willowmoore Park in Benoni, South Africa.
Henry Senyondo won both the Player of the Match award (against Kenya) and the award for the Best Bowler of the Tournament. He ended the tournament with 16 wickets.
Senyondo, Roger Mukasa and Alpesh Ramjani were named in the tournament XI while Riazat Ali Shah was given an honorary mention.
It was also in this game that batsman Robinson Obuya etched his name in history by achieving his first T20 international half-century.
