New Cranes Coach, Desabre Vows to Make Football Lovers Happy

The Uganda Cranes new coach, Sébatien Desabre has vowed to make the Cranes’ supporters happy by setting up a wonderful performance under his tutorship.

Desabre who was speaking to the media at FUFA house in Mengo on Thursday, a couple of seconds after being unveilled by the Federation of Uganda Football Association’s CEO Edgar Watson as Micho’s replacement couldn’t afford hiding his excitement for entrusted for the top job out of the many applicants.

“I am happy to be in Uganda to coach Uganda Cranes. I am ready for the challenge to make millions of Ugandans happy”, Desabre said.

The 41 year old French born boasted about his extra ordinary experience in African football saying he has what it takes to transform football in the country.

“I have worked for a long time in Africa and i know much of African football. I am ready to serve Uganda Cranes”.

A calmly speaking tall man, Desabre has a vast experience in football coaching having managed top clubs in Africa, Asia and Europe.

Mr Edgar Watson, the FUFA CEO reiterated that the new coach is employed on a 3 year contract but objected to reveal his salary saying it’s confidential.

Interim Coach and one of the job’s applicants Moses Basena has been dropped as the team’s assistant coach and replaced with Matia Lule and a one Kajoba as a goal keeping coach.

Desabre who until yesterday was Ismaily FC coach in Egypt, is headed for an immediate task of managing the Cranes in the forthcoming CHAN 2018 in Morocco in January, where Uganda is in Group B alongside Zambia, Cote D’Ivoire and Namibia.

Although Uganda has never missed participating in the CHAN championship, it has never vamped out of the group stages. Will it remain the same story even under new coach Sébastien Desabre?
