A photo of President Yoweri Museveni playing cards game with his grandchildren has sparked off acclamation and satire on social media among Ugandans.

In the photo taken during the President’s festive holiday in his country home in Rwakitura in Kiruhura district, Museveni is seen seated on a plastic table facing one of his grand children. Other two young girls are standing side by side to their granny (President) seemingly showing him how the game is played.

Beyond his eye glasses, the President seems to also wear a look of intrigue as he makes an attempt to challenge his young opponent on the popular game.

The photo which emerged a day after Christmas has since made rounds on social media platforms, triggering reactions laced with a fair sense of humor. Unlike the official moments captured of the President, such photos that bring out the family element of the head of state are bound to attract wide attention.

Ramathan Ggoobi tweeted the photo with a caption; “This image should be put in Uganda museum. This is the only moment the President played his cards while displaying them to his rivals. Normally he keeps his cards close to his chest”.

“‘I am working for myself, I am not working for other people. I am working for my grandchildren’ – President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni,” reacted Andsjeff on Twitter, making reference to a statement made by the President during an interview by a Kenyan media house years ago. The statement made by the President had been taken out of context and widely circulated.

“If he retires in 2021, he will have more of moments like these with the grandkids he has been working for,” he added.

Charles Rwomushana tweeted; “But Museveni gave himself all the jokers and four 2 bombs and bombed the hell out of his grandchildren. They had to stand in protest”.

But Kasereka described the photo as beautiful.

“Taking take off the Politics and giving family it’s deserved time. Beautiful,” he said in a tweet.

Basajja on Twitter wrote; “Guys, give H.E some likes for being such a caring and responsible ‘guka’ (grandfather). Which other President reserves time for family like Mzei (old man) and even enjoys free style?”

Kadoba Moses said; “This is my best family photo ever of Mzee Kaguta Museveni. Such adorable family moments with these little souls are memorable and treasurous”.

Earlier, the President and the youngsters each wielding grazing sticks had taken a tour around his cattle farm.
