Ugandan rower Kathleen Noble has qualified for the 2024 Olympic Games to be held in Paris, France.

The US-based rower finished 4th in the 2000m women’s single sculls at the Africa Championships in Tunisia.

She posted 8 minutes and 16.57 seconds to qualify for her second Olympics on Wednesday.

“We want to congratulate Uganda Rowing, Kathleen Noble for Qualifying for the 2024 Olympics Games,” tweeted the Uganda Olympic Committee (UOC).

“We can’t help but feel proud of you, we can’t wait to see what you’ll accomplish next. Best of luck,” it added.

Noble is an Irish Ugandan rower based in Utah, USA and is recognized as the first Ugandan to ever qualify for rowing at the Olympics in the Women’s Single Scull.

She also holds the Ugandan record for best time so far (30.80 seconds) in the 50m butterfly at the FINA World Swimming Championships.

Noble was part of the Ugandan team at the 2012 World Swimming Championship in Istanbul, Turkey.
