FUFA Super 8 holders Vipers SC were shown early exit from the tournament after succumbing to a 1-0 loss at BUL FC in the quarter final game played at FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru on Thursday.
Bul FC new head coach Abbey Kikomeko gave left back Nicholas Mwere his debut and so did Vipers SC Brazilian tactician Leanardo Martins Neiva who deployed new signings David Bagoole, Paul Patrick Mbowa and Ghanaian forward Fumador Awisome in the starting lineup.
The first half witnessed a cagey and physical display from either side ending in a barren statement.
Two minutes into the second half, it was advantage for the hosts as Reagan Kalyowa was brought down in the box by defender Livingstone Mulondo before Samuel Sekamatte made no mistake to convert from 12 yards past Fabian Mutombora.
The Venoms then brought on more fire power upfront, introducing Brazilian forward Giancarlo Lopez Rodriguez and Abdu Lumala on search of a leveller.
Lumala had his half volleyball strike towards the death of the game ruled out for offside.
Bul FC managed to hold on and get victory in order to progress to the semi final.
At Muteesa ll Stadium Wankulukuku, SC Villa also sailed through to the semi final as they defeated Maroons FC 2-1.
Teenager Hakim Mutebi broke the deadlock in the 12th minute from the rebound after Ronald Ssekiganda’s initial effort hit the crossbar.
The Prison side levelled matters one minute to the half hour mark through Hadadi Kambugu who slotted past Meddy Kibirige thanks to a neat pass from Noel Nasasira.

BUL FC went on to play SC Villa in the semifinals while Vipers SC faced Maroons FC in a classification tie on Friday.
