Police have dismissed an officer from the force for illegal possession of forestry products.

SCP Enanga Fred, Police Spokesperson, said the territorial Police in Nakapiripirit, on July 3, 2023, arrested CPL Walukayo Jude attached to Elgon region in Mbale while transporting 80 bags of charcoal along the Nakapiripirit-Moroto highway, in a lorry truck under http://reg.no. UP 9639.

He was immediately charged with scandalous behaviour and dismissed from the Force.

He was then taken to court along with three other charcoal dealers; Okiror Isaiah, Mugabi Peter and Mubogi David Luke.

The group was charged with illegal possession and dealing in forestry products and remanded to Namalu prison.

The operations against charcoal dealings in Karamoja are ongoing following the executive Directive from H.E. the President.
