“This is regrettable and criminal,” the statement by Police read in part.

The two people who were killed are; Nectaria Kawagga, 23, resident of Bukuya and a UPDF soldier, Private Balode Yafesi (No. RA 216316), 30, who was deployed at Lukwago camp in the mining area in Kitumbi sub county in Mubende district.

The three who were left injured include; Emanuel Kusiima, 21, a boda boda cyclist and resident of Kamusenene who is currently admired in Mityana hospital.

Others are 47-year-old Joseph Mbaziira and 32-year-old Sunday Sentongo another boda boda cyclist who are reportedly out of danger and have been discharged from Kasanda Health Centre IV.

The dead were taken to Kasanda Health Centre IV for postmortem.
