Independent but NRM-leaning candidate Mr. Mawanda Micheal, has won the Igara East by-election, defeating NRM and and FDC flag bearers.

Out of the total 31,730 votes cast, Mr Mawanda collected 16,209 votes, followed by the NRM candidate Mr. Andrew Martial who recently denied opposing lifting the presidential age limit before President Museveni polling 12,991 votes.

Others were independent Katana Benjamin with 1,477 votes, FDC’s Ninsiima Christine who got 497 votes, Kananura Bedads(Ind) with 480 votes and Mr. Armstrong David who only gathered 76 votes.

Igara East constituency fell vacant in September this year when the court of appeal ejected Andrew Martial from Parliament.

The highly competitive election had been projected to be won by Mr Martial who early this week denied opposing lifting the presidential age limit before President Yoweri Museveni saying that his account was hacked.

Look at the state of the school from where he voted from. NRM has failed on service delivery. It should rest in pieces

Uganda’s MPs are frauds. A bunch of self seeking, parastic and copy cat driven fellows. I really believe this parliament is not worth the cost.

It served him right. Am sorry for him.
I warned him about him about his TOGIKWATAKO stance but he never heed. By the time tried to change it was too late.
