Uganda’s High Commissioner to Kigali, Ambassador Rtd. Gen. Robert Rusoke, has made a call to the government to prioritize the construction of the Chancery building in Kigali.
He said this while appearing before Parliament’s Foreign Affairs Committee on Monday, January 16, 2023.
Amb Rusoke also told MPs of an increase in the rent paid for the official residence of the Ambassador, from $63,600 per annum to $96,000.
This, he said, necessitates an increase in funding to the Embassy, for the financial year 2023/2024.
Amb Rusoke, who presented his letters of Credence to the H.E President Paul Kagame, President of the Republic of Rwanda, on June 22, 2022, attributed the increase in rental costs to the change of residence of the High Commissioner in Kigali, to a more secure area.
The Uganda High Commission is located on Route 75, Kacyiru via Minagri, KG 569 Street, Kigali, Rwanda.
