East African Community Headquarters, Arusha, Tanzania: The EAC-Led Nairobi Process on the restoration of peace and security in Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) – Third Inter-Congolese dialogue, is scheduled to commence today, Monday, November 28, 2022, in Nairobi, Kenya.
According to the EAC secretariat, the 3rd Inter- Congolese Dialogue was set to commence at 10 am EAT at Safari Park Hotel, Nairobi.
The meeting aims at accelerating the ongoing regional efforts to attain sustainable peace and security in Eastern DRC as elaborated by various efforts of the EAC Heads of State.
The peace talks reaffirm the commitment of the Heads of State of the EAC; the Great Lakes Region and Africa at large, to finding a lasting solution to the security challenges in the Eastern DRC.
East African leaders have continued to urge dialogue in a bid to stabilise eastern DR Congo, where M23 rebels clashed with troops just north of the key city of Goma.
