The Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces (UPDF) recovered the helicopter from the emergency landing site in Fort Portal, Western Uganda.
“Our MI 24 attack helicopter that had made an emergency landing in Fort Portal has been recovered,” said Defence Spokesperson, Brig Gen Felix Kulayigye, on Wednesday.
He added: “Thanks to our team of technicians from Air Force.”

The chopper was recovered by Uganda People’s Defence Air Force (UPDAF) from an elderly woman’s house near Saaka Airfield where it made an emergency landing over the weekend.
She has since been identified as Peruth Kabarwani.
According to UPDF Mountain division spokesperson, Maj Peter Mugisa, UPDF construction engineers will help repair the damaged house.
