Anti-Corruption Court in Kampala has convicted Anyou Ngolobe Vincent, a former Court Clerk at Nabweru Chief Magistrates Court.
He solicited a bribe of Shs150,000 from a complainant.
According to a Thursday, September 8, 2022, communication by the State House Anti-Corruption Unit, Ngolobe was convicted and disqualified from holding public office for the next 10 years.
The unit in collaboration with Uganda Police arrested Ngolobe in August 2021 for allegedly soliciting a bribe of Shs150,000 in exchange for assistance to secure an eviction order.
He was taken to the Anti-Corruption Court in the same month where he pleaded not guilty.
The court then remanded him to Kitalya prison. He has been on trial ever since.
